Walker Middle School

District policy has changed surrounding the practice of requiring students to purchase PE uniforms through their schools.  Families are now able to purchase their own PE clothes outside of schools. 

However, schools can enforce PE clothes adhere to specific guidelines.  For example Walker will enforce that PE shirts and shorts adhere to the district dress code.  Walker will also require that PE clothing adhere to specific colors.  This is for student safety. 

When our students are dressed in uniforms it is far easier for PE teachers to see individuals who may not belong in class on our fields.  Walker is requiring students purchase dark green t-shirts, without logos or other print, and black shorts without logos or other print, that reach at least to the mid- thigh. 

For families convenience Walker will continue to sell the PE uniform it has for years at a reasonable price of $13.50 for the set.  By purchasing from Walker families can be assured that their student is properly dressed and meeting PE requirements.  Uniforms will be on sale during “Fees and Forms Days” in August.  Pay attention to this website for more information as August approaches.
